PALM HARBOR — January 2, 2004 — The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania awarded the state's labor market software contract to Geographic Solutions. The New PALMIDS system, built from the innovative Virtual LMI Version 6.0 solution, will integrate with O*NET databases along with other national and state databases. New PALMIDS will be the official labor market statistics site for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
In a coordinated effort with the Center for Workforce Information and Analysis, Geographic Solutions is developing the New PALMIDS system with functions offering labor market research, job opportunities, statistics, and more in a dynamic Web environment. The system is built on the ALMIS 2.2 database structure. System advantages will include multi-tiered "drill-downs" for exact statistics or data research along with advanced labor market modules for job seekers, students, and employers.
