PALM HARBOR — August 31, 2004 — The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Employment Security Division has selected Geographic Solutions' Virtual OneStop (VOS) to provide a Web-based labor exchange software solution. The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development chose this viable Internet solution to service individuals and employers throughout all of Alaska's regions—including remote areas.
The Virtual OneStop system, named the Alaska Labor Exchange Information System (ALEXSYS), will be based on version 6.01 of the VOS operating system. Job seekers and employers in Alaska will use ALEXSYS to access a wide array of employment related services including job searches, resume development, skills matching, job market information, job postings and candidate searches.
Alaska joins a network of states that have implemented Virtual OneStop to provide employment services to their communities. The group of existing users provides Alaska with access to a network of workforce professionals to share ideas and best practices, further enhancing the value of services offered through VOS to employers and job seekers in the state.
